New Projects
Umina Project
Following the success of the Gosford project, Tiny Homes is looking to build two self-contained 1 bedroom tiny houses approximately 35sqm in size and designed in accordance with Liveable Design Guidelines to provide safe, secure, long term accommodation for single women over 55 years of age at risk of homelessness. With the support of Central Coast Council and Pacific Link Housing it is hoped that this project will be completed by mid 2026.
Garden Flat Initiative
Our most recent breakthrough initiative, partnering with Mercy Foundation, is to fund and build a fully maintained designer garden flat on privately owned residential land at no upfront cost to the landowner in return for enabling Tiny Homes to facilitate secure long term accommodation for single women over 55 years of age. As an Australian first, it is hoped that the success of this project will pave the way for replication of this project on a larger scale across Australia.

Current Projects
Gosford Project
Completed in 2018 the Gosford Tiny Homes project comprises 4 architect designed studio tiny homes with decking and individual yard space together with common lounge/meeting room. Located within 500m of Gosford CBD and rail station it represents Australia’s first fully DA approved Tiny Home social housing project and has provided safe and secure transitionary homes for over 40 young people at risk of homelessness. The project was a National Finalist and the NSW Winner of the Leading Innovation Award in the 2019 Australasian Housing Institute – Professional Excellence in Housing Awards.
Lismore – Flood Emergency Accommodation
After the devastating floods of 2022 our Tiny Home on Wheels has been deployed to Lismore and utilised by Momentum Collective, a local on the ground charity, as secure temporary accommodation for affected residents. This has demonstrated the benefits of Tiny Homes on Wheels as part of an adaptable disaster relief strategy and we are planning to expand our fleet to meet future needs.

Armidale – Backtrack Youth Collaboration
Through our Tiny Homes Replicator Program we were able to provide home designs and project assistance in relation to the construction of 4 studio Tiny Homes at Armidale for additional accommodation for youth reached through the Back Track outreach programs. Also during this project our Tiny Home on Wheels was utilised to provide additional temporary accommodation for Back Track as an extension to their group home facility.
Future Projects
Over the next 5 years we hope to undertake:
- At least 9 new Tiny Home projects for those of all ages in need of housing assistance in addition to our current and commenced new projects and build 6 more Tiny Homes on Wheels for Emergency and Disaster Relief accommodation. But with your support we could do even more than this….
- By 2030 this will provide an annual increase of over 5,400 nights accomodation per year and generate cost savings to the community through reduced social services in excess of $350,000 per year.
